The current financial crisis has changed the job market. There is a huge competition for the jobs available. So what is important for the new graduates? It is clear that the need of the hour is - be fully prepared for the industry and hit the ground running and be competitive. With this in mind, on 21st January the NUS MBA Finance club organized the Bloomberg training for the MBA cohort. The training was a one hour basic introduction to Bloomberg and how to navigate through it.
Bloomberg can be intimidating for a person who has not been introduced to it. A different type keyboard with 3-4 types of coloured keys and two monitors it sure can confuse you. But once you get a feel of it, it is really extremely intuitive and smooth to navigate the entire system especially with its new auto complete feature. Bloomberg is easy to use yet extremely powerful.
It was quite amazing that all the MBAs started talking the “Bloomberg” language after the training. The Bloomberg University is one place that most of the students wanted to make full use of. Under Bloomberg University, Bloomberg conducts free for all Bloomberg users training sessions and talks specially directed to each stream of banking. I am sure that all the students had an extremely useful session that they thoroughly enjoyed. It is going to be of great help to all of us and most of us plan to make use of the other trainings provided by the Bloomberg University.
On behalf of the NUS MBA Finance Club, I would like to thank Ms. Sharon Lim from Bloomberg for taking time out of her busy schedule and conducting a special session for the students from NUS MBA.
